T. Lux Feininger
Germany (1910—2011)The son of Lyonel Feininger, T. Lux studied at the Bauhaus Dessau from 1926 to 1929, attending the preliminary course of Josef Albers and classes with László Moholy-Nagy, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. During his studies he also worked as a photojournalist, documenting everyday life at the Bauhaus in a photographic language influenced by the New Vision and Moholy-Nagy. From 1930 he turned primarily to painting, initially signing his works under the pseudonym Theodore Lux. After several years between Paris and Berlin, he emigrated to the United States in 1936, where he remained for the rest of his life. From 1947 he exhibited and signed his paintings under the name Theodore Lux Feininger.
