Ladislav Foltyn

Slovakia (1906—2002)
Born in 1906, Foltyn studied at the Bauhaus from 1929 to 1932. When the photography workshop was established he signed up for the course under the supervision of Peterhans, who greatly influenced his style. He worked as an architect but also as a photographer, mainly on still lifes, characterised by clear lines and organic curves, often related to music, another one of his passions. He wrote various books about architecture, including Slowakische Architektur und die tschechische Avantgarde.
