Jan Bons
The Netherlands (1918—2016)After studying at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Bons continued his studies at the Nieuwe Kunstschool in Amsterdam on Paul Citroen’s advice. After the war, he became a leading figure in Dutch graphic design, known especially for his expressive posters, including those created for the theatre company De Appel and the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). In 1952, at the invitation of Gerrit Rietveld, he created a 76-metre-long mural in Mexico City for the exhibition Así es Holanda.
