Corrado Govoni
Italy
(1884—1965)
Govoni published his first poems collection Le fiale at the age of 19, inspired by D’Annunzio. After his encounter with Marinetti, he joined Futurism and collaborated with Lacerba, La Voce and Poesia. He moved to Milan and later to Rome, accepting a job at the Ministry of Popular Culture and writing a brief poem for Mussolini. After the death of his son, he reverted back to a more traditional and introspective style. He also directed the literature review Il Sestante Letterario.
